Genocide Resistance
Bellwether is a global nonprofit taking bold, inspired and informed action to disrupt the cycle of genocide and create genocide resistant societies, empowering communities to flourish and thrive.
Genocide is one of the most pressing issues facing humanity today and in the years to come. Genocide is the intention to destroy in whole or in part a group or individual based on ethnicity, nationality, race or religion. Observing the humanitarian gap for genocide communities, particularly for women, children, and communities of faith, Bellwether responds to pre- and post- genocide communities who have experienced severe human rights violations.
Our model is to recruit locally and implement sustainably. As such, we rely on local partners and community project leaders to collaborate on holistic solutions that ensure peace and stability for years to come. Bellwether focuses on education, policy, and economic development to enact measurable and sustainable intervention.
Founded in London in 2019, Bellwether is a global non-profit working to disrupt the cycle of genocide and create genocide-resistant societies. Our vision is to create a world where policymakers can prevent genocides and individuals resist genocide to create peaceful and plural societies. Following a model to recruit locally and implement sustainably, Bellwether has helped over 36,000 individuals and with dozens of active projects in five countries.
